Is PhoneTest free?
Yes. The desktop app and the iPhone app are free. Only the SickW and iFreeiCloud lookups are billed, by those services, on your own keys.
Do I need an organization?
No. Testing, grading, labels, the IMEI lookups and Apple Configurator work on your own account. Prices, draft invoices and check-in need a Phones.Trade link; bulk processing needs an organization.
Which Macs does it run on?
Any Mac on macOS 13 Ventura or later, Apple silicon or Intel.
Do I need Apple Configurator?
Only to activate phones and enroll them in MDM — PhoneTest runs it for you. It’s free on the Mac App Store.
How does the iPhone app get on the phone?
Enrolling a phone in MDM installs it, with no App Store account. It’s also free on the App Store.
Can a result be faked?
No. Results come from the phone itself — its sensors, system and logs — and the technician only acts. The same phone gives the same results whoever tests it.
What happens to the data?
It’s used only to make the report: no ads, no tracking, never sold. The privacy policy has the details.
